Frequently asked questions

What do I need to bring?

You will require your own laptop and charger for the best hack experience - but we have a limited number we can lend out. Warm and cozy clothes are suggested along with a sleeping bag or pillow if you would like to rest.

Who is the event for?

You must be over the age of 16 years old and a student currently in education or have graduated within the last 12 months. You don't necessarily even need to be a computing student - you will be more than welcome!

Is the event suitable for beginners?

Yes! Our event is open to complete beginners and seasoned hackathon attendees! RGUHack is all about learning new skills, having fun, and meeting others. Mentorship and support will be on offer throughout the entirety of the event.

How will my data and code be used?

Your data will be stored by RGUHack and only used to administer the event. With your consent, we will pass along your details to our sponsors. Everything you created at RGUHack belongs to you.

Do you offer travel reimbursement?

Yes! Thanks to all of our amazing sponsors we are able to reimburse a limited number of journeys up to £25. Please get in touch with us for more details and to find out if you would be eligible to this.

Is there a code of conduct?

You are absolutely correct - to maintain the integrity of the event and protect our values and those of the school we require all attendees agree and abide by our Code of Conduct.
